Working Assertively

Aim
 
The course will explore what being assertive means to learners and the skills that are needed to show assertion and use them to deal with difficult situations. The course will also cover handing complaints and overcoming barriers to communication.
 
Objectives
 
  1. Analyse learners current assertive skills to identifying areas for development
  2. Discuss what being assertive means
  3. Explore skills that are needed to be assertive and develop a personal development plan to enhance current skills
  4. Examine communication skills to outline ways to improve them to ensure that learners are effective in practice
  5. Discuss cases of dealing with difficult people and situations and explore ways of dealing with them
  6. Outline dealing with complaints in line with EYFS and using communication skills to manage the situation calmly
