Bonfire night on 5th November
Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot,
We see no reason,
Why gunpowder treason,
Should ever be forgot!
Bonfire Night is celebrated throughout Britain on 5th November to "celebrate" the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot involving Guy Fawkes against Parliament and the King during the early 17th Century. Most of us enjoy a good bonfire and firework display as much as the children do, please see the links below for some craft ideas that the children could enjoy.

Fourth stanza of 'For the Fallen' by Laurence Binyon (1869 - 1943)
It is a special day set aside to remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and other conflicts. At one time the day was known as Armistice Day and was renamed Remembrance Day after World War 2.
