An Introduction to Equal Opportunities

Aim

To enable participants to understand the importance of Equal Opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.

Objectives

• Exploring why we need to consider equal opportunities
• Define what legislation and OFSTED require for equal opportunities
• Define discrimination
• Identify who can be discriminated
• Consider ways that we can improve our practice

Learning Outcomes

1. Understand what Equality and Diversity is and how it impacts on individuals as well     as other external  parties.
2. Discover what factors can have an influence on an individual’s attitudes and beliefs     and how these can cause issues within the workplace.
3. Identify legal rights and responsibilities surrounding discrimination.
4. Understand OFSTED requirements and how the Early Years Foundation Stage. 5. Identify and share good practice.
