Developing Anti-Bullying Practice

Aim
To explore ways to support childcare workers to recognise & mange bullying within your setting.

 

Objectives

  1. Define the term ‘Bullying’.
  2. Considering possible signs or behaviour that may indicate a child is being bullied.
  3. Developing strategies for dealing with bullying.
  4. Influencing practice through policy?


Learning Outcomes

  1. Know a range of definitions for the term bullying.
  2. Identify at least 3 different signs or behavioural changes that indicate a child is being abused.
  3. Know the 5 types of ‘victim’ related to bullying.
  4. Identify 3 ways to help children and young people feel safe to tell on a ‘bully’.
  5. Have knowledge of 3 key factors to consider to create a safe environment.
  6. Identify 3 strategies to help to deal with bullying.
  7. Know how a policy can influence the practice within your setting.
